Mahavishnu Cashew Factory traces its history to the period of 1996.It is situated in Puthur,Quilon a hub of Cashew Industries. It was established by the then leading A’ class Government Contractor Shri. K.Sreedhara Kurup as part of his diversified career in business
The initial phase began by operating as a toll processing unit for the then leading groups of Cashew Industry, VLC and Olam Exports catering 240 labourers and 4 office staff with a productivity of about 3 tonnes Raw Cashew Nuts per day.
As part of business expansion, the second unit of Mahavishnu, came up in 2000 at Pallickal, Pathanamthitta District doubling the productivity of the organization.
In 2003, S.Renjith Lal an industrial engineering graduate and son of the promoter joined the organization as CEO. The second phase of Mahavishnu Cashew visualized a synthesis of both old and new trends in the business strategy. The next milestone in the history of Mahavishnu was the opening of an export wing and the establishment of the organization as an independent unit. To cater the requirements of the growing export business, the organization had to spread its tentacles to a new unit in Kunnida, at Pathanamthitta District along with the opening of a new Packing Centre in the head office itself. Mahavishnu Cashew became a member of Federation of Indian Export Organization in 2004. The period from 2004-2008 took Mahavishnu to the limelight of booming business. It leased out almost 6 units both in Kerala & Tamil Nadu along with its own 3 factories thereby raising the daily productivity rate to about 20 tons. It was during this period MVC gained membership in CEPCI (Cashew Export Promotion Council of India)
July 7, 2008 was marked   as a ‘black day’ in   Mahavishnu`s Calendar   due to the sudden   demise   of its principle   promoter Shri. K. Sreedhara Kurup.
